Fall Gardening Hints

John Jecha, from Green Glen Garden Center in Joliet IL will be at the Peotone Public Library on Wednesday, September 15th from 6 pm to 7:45 pm.    He will be discussing fall preparation for your yard.

Topics to be discussed are:
 Don’t put your lawn to bed hungry!
·         Including fertilizing
·          Control of weeds
·         Spreading grass seed
·         Filling in bare spots
Fall Clean-up of perennial beds
·         Including putting roses to bed
Adding bulbs for spring color
·         Helpful hints on planting bulbs
Care of trees, shrubs, perennials and vegetable gardens
·         Including fall planting of trees, shrubs and perennials
·         Fertilizing and pruning trees
·         Planting fall vegetables
Mr. Jecha will be available to answer questions. Bring along samples of plant problems or if you have a plant that needs identification.
