Monarch’s First Flight Live with the Will County Forest Preserve

July 8th - 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm

Go to the Will County Forest Preserve Facebook page, and watch this live presentation! Ask a question or leave a comment during the live broadcast to complete the Will County Forest Preserve mission in ReadSquared!

Description from the Forest Preserve Facebook Page: “Watch a naturalist live as they show the magical stages of a monarch butterfly. Hear how naturalists find eggs in odd places. Zoom in close to see a tiny egg, a little caterpillar the size of your eye lash, and a hungry caterpillar, a chrysalis and an adult butterfly. Witness a monarch’s first flight as we release it back into the wild.

Don’t be shy; our naturalist is happy to answer your butterfly questions and give some pointers on how to “butterfly-up” your lawn. We will also discuss the pros and cons of rearing monarchs at home.

The live stream will be pinned to the top of our Facebook page once we go live at noon.

This is a great way to take a break during lunch and learn something new.”

Fee: Free!
Age: All ages.
