Shade Gardens: Native Plants & Ecological Benefits Webinar

May 13th - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

You may have heard about the benefits of planting native plants in your home landscape – but what about in that shady spot in your yard? Are there native plants well suited to a shade garden? Join Energy and Environmental Stewardship Extension Educator Erin Garrett to learn the ecological benefits of planting natives underneath trees and to explore your options when it comes to choosing shade tolerant native plants. Learn what steps to take to replace your existing vegetation with natives that are both aesthetically appealing and help support wildlife food webs.

This webinar will be offered on Thursday, May 13 at 1pm via Zoom. A Zoom link to join the webinar will be emailed to you a few days prior to the webinar.

Presented by Erin Garrett and the University of Illinois Extension. The Everyday Environment Webinar Series is offered by University of Illinois Extension’s Energy & Environmental Stewardship Team, and focuses on a different environmental topic each month. These webinars will both provide new information on natural resources and help you learn how to make small changes in your lifestyle to have a positive impact on the environment. There is never a shortage of new things to learn about your everyday environment!
