Friends of the Library

Founded (September 2014) the Friends of the Peotone Public Library District is a group of people who support the Peotone Public Library District and help the Library expand its potential to serve the residents of the Library District (Green Garden, Peotone, Wilton Center and parts of Monee and Will Townships). This group of adult volunteers take materials donations on behalf of the Library, sort them, and then sell them at book sales. All proceeds go back to the Library to fund projects that the Library may not be able to fund on its own.

This group is an active presence in the Library as they come regularly to sort donations and maintain their in-house shelf of materials to sell. They are always looking for more members to help in any way you can, even if it is just with your membership fee.

Fundraisers

We have a few ways to raise funds ongoing all year.

- We sell Fannie May Candy Bars ($2 each) at the main circulation desk at the Library.

- We have a shelf of materials in the Library entryway. Take you need, give what you can in the donation bin at the circulation desk!

- We also sell the blue bags for taking home materials at the main circulation desk. Buy one today to support us and your library!

Also you can join the Friends all year round and your annual membership dues go right back into funding the Library!

BOOK SALES

We also run larger seasonal book sales, so look for our signs and on the library calendar for our larger sale dates every season.

Donate to the Library

The Library accepts donations from any party wishing to contribute. Thank you to any and all people willing to donate!

We accept memorial donations in honor of loved ones and will work with the donator to use the funds appropriately.

Annual Membership

To join the Friends of the Library complete the application and pay the small annual membership fee. You can join at any point throughout the year. You can commit as much time and funding as you choose aside from your annual dues.

The Friends of the Library come into the Library regularly to sort donated materials and manage items for the booksale. They have regular monthly meetings in the Library where they plan book sales and determine what to fund with the Library.
