Peotone Public Library District has thousands of items in our building to check out, but we can also get items from all over the world if you need us to. Here's the basics of what you need to know about using the Library to get materials:
BORROW
Peotone Public Library District is part of a consortium of libraries known as PrairieCat. This system includes over 130 libraries in Illinois and as far as Iowa. Locally, we are connected to New Lenox, Mokena, Manteno, and Manhattan. Another consortium of libraries is known as SWAN and some local libraries who belong to SWAN are Frankfort, Crete, and Tinley Park libraries.

Here are the basic checkout times to know:

(Hotspots--must sign user agreement)
You may renew items in the online catalog with your library card and PIN, on the app, in person at the circulation desk or over the phone.
Please note there is no renewal on new items or items with holds.
BOOKDROP & LOCKERS
The library has an outdoor book drop at our main location but also one in Monee at the old Village Hall on Court: 5130 W Court St, Monee, IL 60449
We check the Monee book drop twice a week and backdate returns to the last date we checked the Monee drop box.
There is also a Little Free Library next to the Monee book drop.
We are installing remote locker pickup at the same location as our Monee bookdrop! Stay tuned for more!
